We were visiting St. George and saw this on Yelp. I don't give out five stars liberally, but this place really deserves it. I've worked with some very good chefs and I have to say that this place is an unusual blend of menu innovation with mainstream accessibility. The Caesar salad was very good, but the watermelon salad special was extraordinary. With pomegranate seeds, feta cheese and a balsamic reduction it was bursting with flavor and a blend of interesting textures. Honestly, it may be the best salad I've ever eaten. For entrees, my macadamia crusted mahi was very satisfying, but my wife had the four-cheese pear pasta and it was unbelievable. Wow! The purse pasta is unusual but was cooked perfectly and filled with cheese and pear. For dessert we shared the lillikoi cheesecake, which was wonderful, with an arresting tartness from the passion fruit compote. The service was professional and attentive without being stuffy. I liked that our server was knowledgeable about menu. The ambience is very comfortable and the view over the city from a window seat or patio is fantastic. Kudos to the chef. We will definitely come again when we're in St. George.

We we were in the area this summer to hike Zion. Food looked appealing and the view beautiful so we tried it. It was in the mid to upper 90's outside, too hot for me to eat, so we asked to sit inside. We were seated kind of off to the side, not much of a view, in an almost empty restaurant for dinner, which was disappointing. We could've asked for a better table, but we were pretty wiped out after a day of hiking and just settled to not move. If I were to come again, I'd ask to move :) Boyfriend ordered the house burger with fries and I ordered the fried chicken dinner. Both were delicious and hefty amounts. It was the best food we had in St. George. Being nit picky, we would've liked the complimentary bread to come out soon after we were seated rather than soon before we received our entrees. It seemed freshly baked, but timing is everything. The breading on my chicken was a bit thick i.e. too much flour and egg. Also, I usually get cold easily, but the inside of the restaurant felt particularly freezing. Maybe it's just me. Otherwise, staff were nice and attentive. Skip all the fast food in St. George and eat real food at Cliffside.

This was an excellent choice for our party of 9. We were seated shortly after our reservation time on a Friday night and started with Crispy Hand Cut Parmesan "Fries" and Smoked Chicken Quesadilla which were both great. Every person gave their food a 4 or 5 star rating. Favorite dishes were the CHILI-GLAZED Salmon and Four Cheese & Pear Pasta. Beautiful view of the city for most seats in the house and the service was great.

What a lovely, lovely restaurant! I might be slightly bias because we came here on July 4th and it was an incredible experience. My husband made a reservation for us to be seated outside on their patio (not a huge area), but it has an amazing view. And yes, you guessed it. We could see all the fireworks going on beneath us. Best part was, there was a fireworks show right behind us as well. I've never been so close to the fireworks show, and it was definitely the best I've seen by far. The restaurant was also smart to turn off the lights in the patio area for the fireworks show. The entire restaurant was very nice- sort of upscale but casual at the same time - perfect ambiance for a nice dinner without dressing up. The food here was also very good, and priced very reasonably. Our order that day consist of: Starters: Coconut crusted shrimp ($10) Cliffside Steak and Hash ($24) Chili-Glazed Salmon ($19.5) Drinks: Lemon-limeade/berry-limeade (very tart.....) My salmon was perfectly cooked, meaning not overcooked, and the flavor was very good. My husband's steak and hash was amazing as well. I'm pretty sure there was bacon in the potatoes. I couldn't stop poking at the potatoes. The appetizer they brought out was also delicious and nicely presented, and last but not least- they gave you cornbread on the side. The cornbread was sooooooooo good and warm (one you put the butter inside, it just melted). I was not intending to eat the whole thing so I could save room for the entree, but I ended up devouring it. Glad they only gave one per guest, or I'd be full off of just cornbread! Food + view + service = 5 star experience

Since I was staying at the hotel I decided to grab food at the Cliffside Restaurant. I ordered to go around 8:50pm since they closed at 9pm and I didn't want to be that last douche that walks in super late and dines in. Price wise I thought everything was reasonable. Most entrees were in the $15-20 range and from the Yelp pictures they all looked appetizing. I ordered the burger and fried chicken. The burger was really good! Well done, meat wasn't tough, it was a good size and tasted great. The fries that came with it were good as well, it was kind of like a garlic parmesan sort of seasoning. The fry sauce that came along with it was good as well. Sort of similar to thousand island dressing. The fried chicken I ordered was a little bit overcooked in some parts as the breading was a little burnt. The two pieces that came with it were pretty big and it was a good ratio of meat and breading. It came served on top of mashed potatoes which were nothing special, but nothing to complain about. The broccoli served with it was delicious. Not steamed, but somewhat grilled. Lots of flavor and not salty at all. The gravy that came along with it was a little odd. It was on the thin side, not really traditional country gravy, this had a hint of something else..maybe wine? Since I didn't eat at the restaurant I can't really chime in on the whole dining experience other than the outdoor patio and the view. The view is really spectacular as you can see all of St. George, really I don't know if there's a better view in the city to eat at.

This restaurant has the most amazing views of the city and very friendly staff. I ordered the Turkey bacon melt and was blown away at how delicious it was!!! The sandwich was toasted and had cranberries inside it that made the turkey and bacon pop perfectly. I wasn't a big fan of the house lemon limeade; it was too tart for my taste. The only real drawback was it took an hour for the food to come but it was definitely worth the wait and if I'm ever in the area again I will be back!

The view is amazing, but the food is mediocre and extremely overpriced. The server was friendly, but the manager came over before they closed to remind everyone that they were closing... basically they let us in so they could get our money and then rushed us out. Not cool. All in all, my group and I did not feel like it was a good experience for the price.

Was there with friends. Food was good and view is beautiful. One person in our party had steak that was undercooked and they not only fixed it but made that dish on the house. Great service.

What a wonderful delight this little gem is! I discovered the Cliff from a co-worker recommendation, and I am so glad I gave it a try! Located on the side of the Valley cliff overlooking St George the restaurant is a prime location for a beautiful lookout. It is attached to the Cliffside Inn. We tried out the restaurant after a fun day at Zion NP. We barely caught their lunch hours, and they were super sweet to accommodate our party of 8 arriving 10 minutes before closing! The restaurant itself is elegant with a simple color palate and decor. The view is breathtaking. The outside seating looked amazing, although we dined inside. Their menu offers a nice variety, and most items are prepared in-house from scratch. The service was quite nice. The waiter was personable and attentive. The butternut squash soup was the best I've ever had...the caramelized cranberries were a nice touch. The potato soup included bacon and leeks...very nice although I did have to add salt. We had a nice sampling of the menu with our party. The chicken fried chicken was crispy and light. The mahi mahi tacos were sublime, although a dipping sauce would have made it pure heaven. The grilled ham and cheese was toasted to perfection. We drooled over the creme brûlée which was perfect...one of the best I have ever had. 5 star recommendation in St George. Yelp honor.

I've got some mixed emotions about this place. While some things were delicious, others had to be sent back to the kitchen. First off, the space itself and location are really cool. We sat out on the patio and it was fantastic. What a view! That alone makes this place worth checking out. We started things off with the Fresh Mozzarella appetizer and Fresco salad, and while both were delicious, I loved the mozzarella (especially the balsamic vinaigrette served with it). The menu is packed with items that sound good, but once we all caught sight of the burger, we couldn't pass it up. I'd say the burger was good, but not as good as it looked. And while some of the fries were amazing, some seemed a little limp (did they mix batches or something?). And unfortunately, of the four burgers that we ordered, two of them had to be sent back because they were not fully cooked (i.e., raw). What a mistake! Nothing like having two people finishing off their meals while the other two have to sit and watch! To their credit, they offered us all free dessert, and we took them up on the offer. The highlight of the three desserts that we tried was definitely the Double Brownie Pecan Torte, at least to me anyway. It was delicious. The Lilikoi Cheesecake was good, but nothing spectacular. Everyone raved about the Oatmeal Crumble (it was huge) but I didn't try it. A couple hits, a couple misses. But with all that said, I'll definitely give this place another shot, if only for the patio, view, and mozzarella appetizer, alone.

In town from Vegas visiting family. We usually go out once or twice to eat when I come to SG and are usually very disappointed with the service. I have to say, dining at Cliffside was a very nice change & wonderful experience for dinner. I understand this is a newer place in town and they are still working out some wrinkles but I cannot recommend a better spot to have dinner overlooking the entire city. I sat inside but will definitely choose the patio next time. Urge you to save room for the peach oatmeal crumble for dessert! Also, ask for Samantha, great service!

We really liked this place, Falcon provided great service. After being offered a table next to a lot of young children we decided to sit outside where there seemed to be a mostly adult crowd - then the kids started flowing in (8:00 PM on a Saturday night) and our nice romantic dinner was suddenly transformed into romper room. Note to hostess - when someone balks at a table because it is too close to screaming kids, maybe you don't seat the next two customers with young kids next to those people. Just a thought. :-) The view on the outside deck was really quite spectacular. It was a chilly night, but the heaters really helped a lot. Anyway - the butternut soup was great - my wife really enjoyed the salad and her mahi mahi. My steak was rare (ordered medium rare) but was still very good. I loved the lemonlimeade. Would have been a 5 star experience if it weren't for screaming kids putting me a bit on edge. Oh well.

This is a place where you are treaty like a king and queen. Service superb, ambience unique and the food...excellent; but, the chef still needs to work on his chimichurri...

We went here with a group for my sister's birthday and every single one of us raved about our lunch! From the fish tacos to the hamburger--all were scrumptious!! I can't wait to go back!

What a terrific view ! However, the food is great as well. I had their squash soup and their version of Caprese salad (mozerella, tomatoes, basil and sauce). Others had coconut shrimp and BLT sandwich. Everything was done to perfection. Good waitstaff and service.

  • Kory L.

Awesome restaurant with a great view.... We had the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and it was delicious. The shrimp portions were small, but really good. I had the raspberry chipotle chicken and it was a solid choice. My wife had the fried chicken, and it was pretty solid as well..... This place is very reasonably priced, especially for the atmosphere. The best part was that we had a reservation for 7:00, we were seated on time, our order was taken promptly, and the service was VERY quick! We were done and had our check by 7:35.... Loved it!

Wow! This is easily the best restaurant in St. George, a can't miss. The food was excellent and the service was equally as good. We sat on the patio and the views were awesome. We both had the limeade which was good. I had the potato soup and my wife had the salad to start. The soup was fantastic and the salad had a sweet honey vinaigrette that complimented the salad. We then had the macadamia nut encrusted mahi mahi. Fabulous. The portions were more than generous and the prices seemed fair. However, the only thing that prevents me from giving this place five stars is the surprise I received when I got the bill. The waitress asked when we were ordering if we would like the soup or the salad. Since these are customary items to receive as part of your entree, we ordered them. However, when the bill came, both of these items were added on to the price of our entree. This was the equivalent of adding an extra meal to our bill. Overall, killer food and atmosphere. Must go if you are in St. George, but wish they were more transparent with their prices.

My husband and I stayed in the motel for valentines days and it was absolutely beautiful!! They brought us breakfast in the morning and we are it on the porch that overlooked the city. It was amazing!! The bed was so nice and the decor was done so well!! I loved it. I've had lunch in the restaurant and it was so good! I had the potato soup and it was great! It has a slight lemon flavor that was so different from anything else I've ever had! I loved it! The views are incredible. So romantic. The manager on duty was nice enough to stop by out table after to ask how everything was. I can't wait to come back and try it out for dinner!! Support your local businesses!!!

I ate dinner there tonight with my wife. We didn't make a reservation, but were seated in about forty minutes, under the estimated one hour they told us we might be waiting. We didn't complain. The service was fantastic. The pork tacos were incredible! The fish tacos were delicious. My wife had the hanger steak was great and cooked to perfection, but the baked beans were underdone. The wine was excellent, and the overall experience was great. We were seated right next to the window, and had a wonderful view and amazing time!

This a new and rare little gem for St. George, not only is the view absolutely stunning but the food is wonderfully delicious. I always get the Salmon cooked medium rare because this is one of the only places that can do it and do it right. I love that the Chefs their and (not only because I know them personally) but Chef Vance and Chef Paul are so extremely great at what they do and you can always taste the love and dedication that goes into the food that comes out. The owners Tom and Dorthy have changed that place into something unbelievable because if you had seen what it looked like before you would be incredibly shocked. Two things i did not care for however was how relaxed the staff was, it took a long time to bring out anything we asked for and the bussers left plates in front of us until we finally asked for them to be taken away in that sense I felt not taken care of and almost forgotten. I like that they are super friendly but I think the service is TOO Laxed especially if they are dressed nice and its a classier place I like the more elegant dinner service environment if i am paying a lot of money to eat there. I also did not care for the manager who opened our wine, although this is a difficult task and sometimes takes time to learn he got cork in our wine and we opened the other two bottles ourselves and were charged $30 dollars in corkage fees, i just thought that was a little ridiculous and hope they have a better deal when it comes to that, and also someone who can open it right.

Incredible views. We had the Coconut Prawns appetizer, followed by Flat Iron Asado, Trout, and 4 Cheese Pasta. Dessert was amazing as well. Great value, great service, we will be back.

The service was no good, they were obviously understaffed and didn't care much for us. I got a burger to play it safe and it was so overcooked and burned I couldn't even eat half of it. We got our food over an hour after we were seated. The view was pretty cool, but definitely tell them you want to sit on the patio. I won't be coming back..

The service was good and the food was absolutely better than I was expecting: Prices were not bad at all-- ~$10-20 depending on entree. We had the coconut crusted shrimp appetizer-- A Must. I ordered the flat iron steak. It was fabulous. The wine list is lacking--not many choices. But our server informed us that a much broader assortment is forthcoming. I would definitely return. The atmosphere and view is absolutely stunning!! My new favorite spot in St. George.

The atmosphere was casual and relaxed with the most magnificent view of the St. George Temple and city lights. The food was amazing! We ordered the house lime/lemonade to go along with the raspberry chipotle chicken for myself and the fish tacos for the wife. We couldn't believe how good the food tasted and how quickly it was delivered to our table after we had ordered. The bread that they bring out is also very delicious when smothered in the butter that accompanies it. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be visiting here again on future trips to St. George.

I have visited this restaurant a couple of times and the food and service have been excellent on all counts. I had my wedding there a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing. I can't recommend them enough. My new favorite. :-)

Beautiful ambiance and a delicious salad to start the evening, which quickly went downhill. 2 of the 4 burgers we ordered came out raw and had to be sent back. Needless to say the other 2 were finished and waiting for us before our burgers returned, so we had to eat separately. We had to ask 3 times for a fork and some ketchup. They compensated us desserts for the trouble, which helped, but they brought them out individually, so we again were waiting on one another to eat. Made for a long meal process. The food was good and I would give a higher rating if the service had been a little better.

I haven't been to St. George in almost 20 years and heard good things about this place from 2 different people as well as Yelp so I took my girlfriend here on March 30. We made reservations for 8:15 PM for a patio seat and arrived a little early. Great scenery and the menu looked good too. The hostess at the front, Trillium, was very nice. At 8:15 she told us that the table she wanted to give us was still being used (the group there was done eating but were just talking and not leaving) and we could still be sat at the patio, but it was a corner table and the view wouldn't be that good, but she would try to move us to the better table once the other party left. So we took the corner table. The view was still decent and, in retrospect, I wish she had just sat us at the table and not told us there was a better patio seat available cause it just made us a little upset. Anyway she moved the extra chairs at the table out of the way herself and we sat and staff gave us some water. About 5 minutes later our server (older, clean shaven, and bald) comes over and we order 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a glass of wine. After about another 5-10 minutes someone brings the glass of wine, bread, and one of the appetizers. The appetizer we ordered was the carnitas. I'll note that on the menu it doesn't state that there are tomatoes on the carnitas, but there were and neither of us like them. It does state there are onions on the carnitas and we asked for no onions but there were still onions on them. No plates were given to us and so it was kind of messy to try to eat them. The bread was good, the carnitas were ok. After another 10 minutes Trillium came over and told us the other party had left so we could move and we did. After another 5-10 minutes we just decided to leave. We had been there for nearly 40 minutes and our server had come to our table only one time -- to take the order. We had only gotten 1 appetizer, no plates, no updates, or anything. I went to the front and told Trillium that even though she was great to us, our experience had been pretty bad, and tipped her $5. I just wanted to pay for the appetizer and wine and leave. She apologized but understood. After talking with the server she said we didn't have to pay, so that was nice. The server did not come out to apologize and they didn't make any effort to make it better which my girlfriend was a bit miffed about (she works in customer service), but I was fine with this. We went to Cracker Barrel instead. I was really looking forward to things here but what awful service. Trillium was great and you should give her a raise or have her go around from table to table checking on people or something, but that older bald clean-shaven guy needs to get fired, and where the hell was a manager at this place?

Admittedly, it was Saturday night. The room was full, and the noise level extreme. Even so, there was canned music competing with the noise. The service was excellent for our party of seven, but my mahi mahi was tough and only slightly warm. My husband said his salmon was about the same as we found at Sizzler, and twice the price. Quite a limited menu, but they need to work on what they do offer. We will not be going back despite the spectacular view.

I ate here twice for lunch in the month of January 2015. I was pleasantly surprised at the breadth of the menu, and the unique presentations. Each time, I wasn't overwhelmed - but I'd definitely go back. The first time I got the lunch combo - a sandwich with nuts and berries inside. Unique, but not great. The second time I got the quesadilla, which likewise was good - not great. I got the coconut shrimp appetizer on the first visit, cuz there were so many good reviews, but they were hard as a rock with little flavor. The salad both times were kind of a disappointment. The house dressing has little flavor, and the second time I asked for 1000-island - which looked like the house dressing - though the server verified it was thousand. Hmm.... The view is pretty cool in January, even without leaves on the trees in town. I imagine a summer visit, or an evening visit with lights from the city would be even better. Prices were around $10 per meal at lunch. Service both times was adequate. The experience was slightly better than average... and is better than the what one gets at most restaurants down below - but I'm not going to rave about it. (PS: the first time there was a group of 30 or more in the back, so they have private dining. The hillside has blown paper trash on it, kind of a downer for such a "nice" place - it could easily be picked up if mgmnt cared. There is probably room for about 30 -40 diners in the main dining area. Not huge, but intimate - most with window views)

I just came from a very pleasant and relaxing lunch at this newly reopened restaurant, perched above the City of St George. The ambiance and setting is the best in the city and after a very pleasurable conversation with the owners, Tom and Dorothy, they have my loyalty. It is refreshing to see business owners pouring their heart and soul into creating a lovely experience for their customers. Just a quick note about the menu...surprisingly extremely affordable. Coming from Dallas, I assumed a cliff side restaurant would be extremely pricey but the menu is affordable and with several choices that I'll come back to try.

Went here after reading the reviews Not sure if they were written by family But here's what I experienced. The views were nice. We arrived and were greeted by the hostess we told them we had reservations told them our name and that I had asked for a table by the window. She told me I was lucky because there was a cancellation other wise I would have had to sit I the main part so much for making reservations ahead of time . We sat down and the waitress came and asked us for our drinks. About 5min. Later we got our drinks and continued to order me and my wife went with the chicken fried chicken One son ordered the chipotle chicken and the other got the pasta I also ordered the potato soup and parmigiana fries The fries came out with the soup they were cold they tasted more like chips then fries the soup was o.k. But not wonderful like the reviews said. Then our meals came the chipotle chicken my son said was good the pasta my other son said was really good but both me and my wife had cold mashed potatoes and the chicken wail most tasted like oil that it was fried in the sauce they called hurricane sauce was not the traditional white gravy but a brown bland gravy that added nothing flavor wise to the chicken when asked how our meal was I told them about the potatoes and they did ask if I wanted new ones but by then I had finished eating so the gm came over and told us she was sorry and then came out with a comp dessert . The bill came and lo and behold the dessert was on the bill when I told the waitress she had to hunt down the gm to take it off. All in all not to impressed with what was a fancy restaurant according to the yelp reviews p.s. The dessert was the best part of the meal

We've eaten here twice and I'm glad to report that it was excellent both times. Each time we dined on the outdoor patio to enjoy the view overlooking St.George. Meals have included the penne pasta, chicken fried chicken, and the pork loin. Appetizers have included the carnitas tacos and garlic-Parmesan fries. All have been excellently prepared, presented, and very flavorful. I've enjoyed the big 'ol jar of lemonade. This restaurant is the best non-franchise place to eat in St. George and will very likely go there again.

We recently moved to Salt Lake after living in St. George for several years so we still keep up with all things new. We couldn't wait to try Cliffside Restaurant especially since so many of our friends have recommended it. I have to tell you this was definitely one of our top three dining experiences and we eat out A LOT! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I ordered the chicken fried chicken because I couldn't resist and it was out of this world good. My husband ordered a daily special which was chicken crepes. Also very good. We had to try the brownie with pecan pie topping. I'm still thinking about that as I write this review. I'm sorry some of the diners had mixed reviews but there are no mixed feelings about our experience. You get 100% and we've been to many fabulous restaurants so that's quite an accomplishment. I wish this restaurant was in Salt Lake because I would be a regular. St. George, support your local market and enjoy a fine dining experience at moderate price. It sounds like the staff is responsible and trying to improve along the way so don't give up. You are so fortunate to have someone that cared enough to refurbish the Rococo and now you can experience this beautiful establishment right in your own backyard. The next time we come, we're planning to stay at the hotel also. The rooms are exquisite. Well done!

The Best Restaurant in Southern Utah! We moved here from Newport Beach, California, and are accustomed to excellent food, service, and incredible ocean views. Cliffside Restaurant has excellent food, first-rate service, elegant ambiance and beautiful views! The food is truly fresh and house-made! They have a garden for their fresh ingredients. General Manager Jared is exceptionally caring! Servers Austin and Erin are excellent! They make dining experiences comfortable and wonderful! When we get food to go, instead of dining in the restaurant, Erin makes sure the order is correct, which is greatly appreciated on to-go orders! Chef Vance is an excellent Chef! The price point is similar to other restaurants in the area. The menu is diverse. They have specials as well. The Fresh Hand Pulled Mozzarella, with vine ripened tomato, basil pesto, balsamic, soffrito oil, & house made crostini, is delicious, as is the Cliffside Steak and Hash, which is a 10 oz char-grilled NY sirloin steak, two-potato hash, bacon-onion compote, parmesan cheese sauce & house made steak sauce. Definitely the best steak we have had in the area, and rivals restaurants in Newport Beach. The Chicken Fried Chicken with creamy mashed potatoes, gravy, & grilled scallion, is delicious. The Cliffside Burger is the best burger we have ever had, as are the fries! The Chopped Chef salad and Caeser salad are the best also! Even the tomotoes on the salad are the best, specially marinated. Every component, sauce, side, and ingredient in every dish is spectacularly good! The fresh, hot bread, is great as well, and served with delicious dill butter. The dill is subtle and excellent. Austin brought us balsamic and oil to dip the bread as well. Desserts are as good as everything else. We will be regulars and will bring family when they visit us from California. We will also recommend The Inn on the Cliff, which is adjacent.

You have to visit Cliffside if you visit St. George! It was wonderful from the second we walked in the door. The staff is friendly and helpful and our waiter was great. The owner came over and thanked us for coming and visited with us. The view is amazing. We were seated as the sun went down and watching the city lights come on was really fun. I had the pork loin and it was the most flavorful I have ever had. There were 6 of us and everyone loved their meal. I will go back next time I am in St. George!

A re-do of a st George Classic spot. The new owners have refurbished the entire restaurant and the patio is lovely. The menu is not adventurous at all- chicken, pasta, burgers... But what they do, they do well. The chicken fried chicken had a light crunchy coating- the Mac-n-cheese was decadent and huge- great to split. The burger was thick and flavorful with crispy thin fries dusted with Parmesan. The special looked and sounded good- short rib with polenta- again kind of boring though . Hopefully the restaurant business will grow so the chef can expand and showcase more original food. A decent dinner with an amazing view.

We came here a few weeks ago and was very impressed. Came back tonight, and this will be the last time we try this restaurant out. Our waitress was not professional. We were over charged on our bill and let the manager know, he was even less professional. We got the steak and fries, steak was ordered medium rare, it was survived well done. We also got the $22 dollar ribs (only came with three) and two pieces of dry pork covered in too sweet of bbq sauce. The potato salad was overloaded with horse radish we couldn't eat it. They ran out of bread and on top of our $60 dollar bill they were charging $10 for a simple salad. There are much better quality restaurants with better customer service in town.

The view is killer!! When you make your reservation let them know you want a window seat. I did not know to do that and wasn't able to get a window table. The food was delicious. My husband kept making noises while he ate his burger. His only complaint was that the bacon was too thick and hard to chew. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and cleaned my plate. We plan on going back next time we visit St. George.

We dined on a Thursday evening, a beautiful night and extremely pleasant ambiance. However, my wife tried to order a bottle of wine from a very limited selection, but they were 'out of' the Merlot, and the Cabernet... and also out of the first choice of beer I had asked for. Well, okay, never let a place being too busy ruin an evening. But really!?? The manager did comp our appetizer, but I wasn't impressed. I don't mind paying for what I order ever. My wife had the Salmon which she gave good marks. I ordered their 'Cliffside Steak', my reasoning being it must be excellent if it carries their name. Uh, no. It was a terrible piece of low grade beef, not aged at all and a bit overcooked to the medium rare I had requested. I will try again in two months because I really do want them to succeed. St George needs the quality.... but they can and must do a lot of things much better.

YUM~!!!!! The chicken fried chicken was amazing. It is a slightly upscale place with a beautiful view of Saint George. If you are looking for a great view and great food come here. I will be back for sure when I am in town.

Can't say enough how great the view, food, presentation, prices, and service were! You have to try it!!! I took my parents and sister for a meal before the Shakespearean festival. We made a reservation on Yelp and requested a window seat - and got a great view! We ordered the Penne Rustica, Pork Tenderloin, Tortilla Encrusted Trout, and Chicken Fried Chicken. All were delicious! Also the Hawaiian Italian Soda. YUM! They comped a dessert since it was our first time, plus we ordered one - Pecan Brownie and Cheesecake. Both great. Robin, the owner, came out and chatted with us. So excited to finally see that location living up to its potential! TRY IT!!!

Would love to give this place a better review, but I can't. Although the food was good, the service was TERRIBLE! They comped our desserts, but that didn't make up for the lack of service. Took forever to get our drinks, served tables around us (who came in after we did) long before we got our entrees. We were told it was because we had appetizers and salads and the tables around us didn't. Sorry, don't buy that excuse. Will I go back? Maybe. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because it appears the servers haven't quite become a team yet. Saw someone (who I assumed was the manager) hovering around giving directions - that shouldn't happen with a well-trained staff.

I acknowledge that it was way too noisy. In fact, it was louder than Texas Roadhouse. Also, the service was slow and unpolished. I did read that the management is working on these issues. The food was good, but the carnitas appetizer was soggy and messy and we didn't get plates to eat over so we looked like children making a mess on the table. My steak and cheesecake were great! I loved the pickled onions especially. I'll certainly be going back to see how this place corrects the few issues.

Not impressed at all and after reading the reviews I probably should have just steered clear but I like trying new places. First off the wine glasses. They were the same for red or white and they looked like the really cheap ones you buy from walmart. If I am going to pay 9$ for a glass of house wine please put it in a nice glass!! The atmosphere was a bit cramped and gave me a 70's vibe with the slanted ceilings. Also the main draw, the view, was not really accessible because we were seated a few rows back and the bright glare basically blocked everything. The food was pretty good. We started out with the pork carnitas which were probably the best thing we had then fish tacos and a chicken past dish. Our waitress was not that great and never cleared off our dinner dishes when we were done. Overall not really impressed and seems more like a tourist trap than an actual nice place to have dinner/lunch.

We had our first visit tonight to the Cliffside Restaurant. We had an amazing meal, and we were not disappointed. I was worried based on other reviews that the restaurant would be very loud, and if it was a problem in the past, it is no longer a concern. We were there on a busy Friday night and the sound level was perfect. We started with a beer and wine (the Pinot Grigio was amazing). My husband selected the wedge salad, and I had the potato soup. My husband said the wedge was good and I LOVED my potato soup. It had a drizzle of lemon oil on the top, and the soup was silky smooth. The entrees had many options, I choose the Raspberry Chiplote Chicken. the chicken was so juicy and the sauce was a perfect compliment. My husband had the Penne Rustica with Sausage and said it was one of his favorite dishes ever. We completed our meal with a vanilla creme brulee that was homemade and perfection. Here is what is keeping it from being a 5-star restaurant. I thought most of the prices were reasonable, couple things seemed excessive, like the wedge salad for $9? I have a pet peeve, it is when restaurants automatically fill everyone a water glass. For one, we are in the middle of a drought, and even though, I drink water with ever meal. may people don't and it goes to waste. Also, if you are going to serve water, you need to make sure that your ice and water are filtered so that there aren't "floaters" (aka sediment) in the water. Lastly, the employees were kind and efficient; however, they need some refinement on their table service and manners. For example, reaching across patrons to collect dishes, acknowledging guests (bussers), and even when change is brought, make sure that you break larger $20s in order to give your customers options for tips because I am not leaving you a 40% tip. All of these items can be fixed with time, and I think that Clliffside is a great restaurant, and I am so happy that we now have a nice (non chain) restaurant to take out of town guests.

I could not wait to write this review. We first tried to stay at the Inn on the Cliffs hotel because of the beautiful views but it was booked so we decided to check out the restaurant. It was truly one of the best experiences I've ever had. Our server Erin was amazing. The food was perfect and our Chef Vance was truly gifted. I rarely ever clean my plate but it was too good to put down. From dinner to dessert everything was amazing. Chef Vance personally visited our table which added a unique personal touch to the experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting St. George, Utah.

Either on their refreshing outdoor patio or inside the beautifully remodeled restaurant, you'll get to enjoy the most incredible views of the city! The staff was all so personable and attentive. The chefs are magicians, artistically presenting delicious food! Over a 4-night stay at the next-door Inn on the Cliff (we'd also reccommend staying there - we'll be back!) we tried several of the menu items, and were always pleased. Two of my favorites were their chicken fried chicken, and their signature cheesecake - yum! They have a separate room that would be wonderful for a celebration/gathering.

Amazing view of St. George and food to match. The revamp of the old Rococo's is beautiful. The food is very good. A fancy twist on good old favorites. The portions are a little small, but everything is delicious!

Not sure how anyone could give this place anything but a great review. The food was delicious. They have a wonderful selection of beers and wines. The menu was short but nicely varied. The views from inside and the patio were wonderful. The prices were much lower than you would expect for the quality of what you get. I would highly recommend this place.

My first visit to Cliffside, what a pleasant surprise! The view from the crisp modern dining room is amazing. It was not overly noisy for our lunch time meal, even though somewhat busy. The owner advised us that they are working on the noise issue. Our food was very very good, beautifully plated and served by a courteous and timely waiter. This is a most welcome and needed addition to St. George.

We had lunch at Cliffside on Wednesday. It was bustling. We got seated on the patio after waiting about 10 minutes. Service was good. I had the house salad and penne pasta. Very nice and huge portion of penne. My friend had salad and the macaroni and cheese, which was very good. I would recommend. The view is really great.

OMG, what a find!!! I have reviewed restaurants from NC to Hawaii. My quest is to find gems and I scored today. We love living in St George and this restaurant represents the best of this beautiful oasis. The view from a room at the attached motel, the restaurant or outside dining is nothing short of spectacular. Whether it is Zion, Hurricane Ridge or Pine Valley Mountain, or the city of St George it all is there to be taken in and savored. Now to the restaurant, which is tastefully done with staff wearing bistro apparel and broad smiles. Service was attentive and professional, complimenting our dining experience. The menu was simple but excellent, providing something for everyone?. I had their specialty burger and my wife , their chicken sandwich. Both huge on flavor and size. Throw in their great take on fries and these meals were wonderful. The last aspect of dining out, is pricing. In my opinion this restaurant delivers a great dining experience at extremely reasonable prices, making this my choice for being " The best of St George ".

One of the best restaurants we have eaten in for awhile. Beautiful setting, moderately priced comfort gourmet. Simple yet adventurous. Beautiful view of the city and the sunset. The chef is young and is very knowledgeable of his combination of food and flavors. His presentation was artistic and appealing. He is very innovative. Jayme, our waitress, was very accommodating, knew her menu, suggested some favorites, and paid the right amount of attention to us. Every need and desire was met even the bus personal made sure our water glass was refilled and dishes clear. I want people to know about this place. Next time we go through we want to stay at their Inn that has that same fantastic view.

True to its overall yelp review, this place gets 4 stars from me. I love that they take reservations (even just for 2 people). The restaurant is so lovely and beautiful. We went at 6:45 on Friday night and were seated immediately (remember, we had reservations). Once we ordered, our food came quickly, one plate after the next. We had the fresh mozzarella to start. It was really yummy but I would have preferred basil to the arugula that came with it. Not the best caprese style dish I've had but very yummy. Then I had the blue cheese wedge. It was excellent. Instead of an iceberg wedge, it seemed more like a romaine wedge. Lastly my mom and I shared the special which was 2 8oz bone in pork chops with a sweet potato that had candied bacon. The whole dish was good. The sauce was awesome. Pork chops aren't my favorite so it didn't just knock my socks off but overall it was yummy flavor and a yummy dish. We asked for some bread and butter which was also very good. For desert we had the brownie pecan torte. This was certainly 4 stars! Delicious but small. Not quite enough pecan crunch to it but great flavor. I will go back. Enjoy! Ask for a table by the window!

This place was strange. Maybe the dinner here is better. The view is great but that's all it had going for it. 10 mins to sit and wait for a table. The restaurant was practically empty (3 tables occupied) during lunch time on a Saturday. The table was set but it clearly wasn't wiped off (I didn't say anything but there were crumbs all over it before we ate --- sorta gross). The sandwich was meh. It's like it pretended to be gourmet by throwing in a few garnishes. The ham sandwich bread was saturated in butter and only had like 1 thinly sliced deli ham. The potato soup had butter swimming on the top. It tasted like Campbell's Cream of Potato, there were no chunks and it was bland. My water glass was dirty. I thought about their lemon lime or whatever is suppose to be a "house speciality" beverage. I decided not to, I picture over paying for some pre-made garbage you can get at the grocery store for a couple of dollars. The service was pretty crappy too. No checking in or automatically filling of water glasses. No thanks.

Big hopes, bad experience overall. We were passing through for one night and wanted a nice dinner. We were late to be seated (with a reservation and even getting there early). They were already out of half their specials by the time we were seated (8ish). We were seated in the middle of the floor when half their nice window seats were open (isn't a seat with a view the point at this place?). And lastly our food came out late. The waitress did offer us lemonade as an apology (um, it was the same lemonade you can drink for free as you wait for your table). The food was good when it finally came. But the overall experience was very disappointing/frustrating. If you're passing through St. George like we were, think twice or lower expectations before going here.

Delicious! My husband had the ribeye & I had the flat iron steak. Both were tender & cooked to temp. The dressing on the wedge salad was sooooo good! My kids all enjoyed their dinners too. Last, but definitely not least, the service was great. The view from the restaurant looks out over the whole city. This place is perfect for special occasions & families alike.

Not only does this restuarant have amazing views from where it sits perched on a bluff but the food is delicious! My boyfriend had the pork chops with grilled sweet potatoes that were so good I couldn't stop eating them. Sorry babe! We had impeccable service and did not feel rushed even though we were one the last ones there. Will definitely go back!

Celebrated my fathers birthday tonight. Our first time here and it was a perfect choice. Once the rain cleared, we had a magnificent view of downtown. Our meals were outstanding and presented beautifully. The wine portions were very generous. Then dessert! Sorbet parfait was refreshing, creme brûlée at a perfect warm temperature and cheesecake was delightfully light. Not overpriced, lovely ambience and the best of the finer restaurants in St. George. Will definitely be our go to restaurant for a special night out.

I find it frustrating that a restaurant that accompanies a hotel is not open on Sundays. Strange decision from a business aspect. Please rethink this far too common practice for this town, I know I'd dine there again if so. Hospitality is a 7 day a week industry, and at least for my family, it is the only day we can get together.

I rarely give 5 stars for a review, but this place is awesome. It had been several years since I last visited this location, and it's apparent the new owner/chef have turned this place into a winner! Service was great. Staff was very friendly. Food was great. Our group had the chicken cutlet, Cliffside Burger and the Pork Tenderloin. The Cliffside a burger was one of the best hamburgers ever! The fries were also on point. The pork tenderloin was very good - not great. Chicken was also very good. My recommendation is to go with the $13 Cliffburger. It is great!

We went there for lunch after we checked out from the adjacent hotel. The only con is that the wait was a bit longer than usual, but everything else was good. The server was nice to the kids, the food was nice and the prices were acceptable. If we will be in the area in the future, we will come back.

Outstanding place! - especially when you get to sit on the patio with full moon staring right in your face reflecting sunset... Food is just awesome! I had tonight's special: Dr.Pepper boneless short rib... and I have to say that it was the best ever, and trust me I ate from many different stoves... The local trout is delcious too! *****great recommendations by Austin (the Waiter) do yourself a favor and order what he likes ;) Overall 10 out of 10!!

Wonderful experience! I took my wife out for a nice dinner tonight while we are visiting St. George. We looked at all the local eateries on Yelp and asked around and settled on the Cliffside because their menu matched our taste and we wanted a beautiful view of the city. Service - top notch. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our glasses were always filled and they were prompt without being annoying. The setting was beautiful. It was a little warm, but we decided to eat outside and I am glad we did. The restaurant faces East so you get a nice break from the sun once it gets behind the building. Beautiful view. Food - Everything was delicious. Everything. We had coconut shrimp for appetizers and they were perfect and the orange dipping sauce was delicious. My wife ordered a salmon salad for her main course and she loved it. I am not a salad guy myself but it did look and taste very good. I ordered the special - short ribs braised in Dr. Pepper (they could have left out this information) over mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus with a pea chimichurri salsa over the top for $35. It was phenomenal. Mouth-watering good. For dessert, we had a raspberry peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream that was also outstanding. Even the food and drinks from the tables around us looked great, including fresh limeades, crusted mahi mahi, and fish tacos. Price - Considering that it felt like fine dining and we had an appetizer, main course, dessert and a couple drinks, the fact that we ate under $100 (including a 20% tip) is pretty remarkable. If I could only give one recommendation (in case management reads this), I would cut the stem off the strawberry that came on top of our dessert. It was in the sauce so you couldn't pick it up and it was hard to cut the stem with our dessert spoons. Ha! The only negative thing I can say. Great job Cliffside staff. We will dine here again next time we are in town and I will pass this along to others.

We chose the Cliffside for dinner on our anniversary weekend in St. George. Friends who live there said it was at the top of their list and we made a great choice! We visited on 8/15 in the evening around 7:30, just in time for sunset. It was really hot out on the patio, but the view was well worth it. We loved everything we ordered. The salmon was my favorite! We'll be back next time we are in town. :)

We were over charged on our bill and let the manager know, he was even less professional. We got the steak and fries, steak was ordered medium rare, it was survived well done.

Yelp honor.

No thanks.

Oh well.

What a terrific view ! However, the food is great as well. I had their squash soup and their version of Caprese salad (mozerella, tomatoes, basil and sauce). Others had coconut shrimp and BLT sandwich. Everything was done to perfection. Good waitstaff and service.

Delicious food. Our party had Coconut Shrimp, Caesar Salad, Wedge Salad, Pork Chop, and Rib Eye. Service was great. View is beautiful.

George.

George.

The macadamia crusted mahi mahi was to die for. The salmon was also fantastic. Coming back for sure.

Well done!
